The Experience
Step 1: Book A Newborn photoshoot from Albion Park
When is the best time to book in your maternity and newborn photography session if you live in Albion Park? We recommend booking in your sessions as soon as you have your estimated arrival date. Your newborn photography session will ideally be scheduled two weeks after your due date. However, stress not- we know that babies are on their own schedules so if your little one arrives earlier or later than anticipated, we will adjust your photo shoot accordingly.
One of the most common questions that is always brought up is at what age is my baby considered a newborn or older baby? Generally, a newborn is considered to be a newborn up until they reach 4 weeks of age. Older babies are generally up to 12 weeks of age(styled as a newborn session). Once your baby has outgrown the newborn stage and fits the older baby category, we will be able to capture more awake photos of them. Newborn sessions are held in my Balgownie studio, where you can sit back and relax while we work our magic in capturing beautiful photos of your baby that can be cherished for a lifetime and even passed down from generation to generation. Our studio is equipped with various props, wraps, and backdrops available for use- all of which are sanitized and cleaned in preparation for your newborn photo shoot. Step 2: Prior To Your Albion Park Photo Shoot
The journey through pregnancy is an exciting time in a woman’s life, whether this is your first or your fourth, it is always a unique experience to be treasured. However, this time goes by within a blink of an eye and before you know it, your beautiful newborn has arrived into the world. Having beautiful images of your gorgeous bump is something we know you will cherish for a lifetime. If you are looking to book an Albion Park maternity photography – our studio is located close by!
All of our newborn & maternity bookings give you the option of including an indoor or indoor location of maternity shoot between 30-34 weeks. The outdoor locations are spread across the Albion Park area where I can direct you to some pretty spectacular hidden gems. You will also be given access to our gorgeous maternity gowns from the studio’s client closet. You can view these here. In order to assist me in styling your baby during their newborn photo shoot, a preparation guide and questionnaire will be emailed to you to complete. We want to create beautiful memories for your family that can you treasure forever.
Step 3: On The Day Of Your Photography Session With Me
This day is where all the magic starts! The most difficult part of the journey should be leaving your house. Once you have reached my studio, it’s your time to relax and unwind while I work my magic on your newborn! Have a coffee and some nibbles – put your feet up because you deserve it. Some parents will even have a little nap, while I take care of their precious newborn. You can have a relaxing experience while knowing that your baby is in trusted hands. In order to be able to achieve more positions & prop setups, your baby will be wrapped during your session. This also ensures that they are comfortable and warm. Safety is my biggest priority, which is why I always handle newborns with all the love and care they require.
Sibling and family photos are included in your session and will be taken first. The session will take up to 2 hours which includes your viewing session directly after your photo shoot where you see your images for the first time.
Step 4: Seeing Your Images Onsite For The First Time
This is one of the most precious moments of the day- seeing your reaction to your baby photos. Your photos will be displayed on the big screen whilst you are relaxing with your baby. This is the time where you get to relive those amazing moments and pick the memories you would love to have forever. Seeing parents beautiful and heartfelt reactions is a truly amazing experience and it’s the reason why I love doing what I do! We specialise in providing you with exceptional wall art & printed products, you get to select from an array of incredible heirlooms to have your memories brought to life on. I love albums, and have some pretty impressive ones on display around my home! But knowing that each family is different, we will work together to select the right fit for you and your home. While you are viewing the images on display, you can select your favourite ones and decide on which artwork and products will suit your home best. Before coming into your session, it is a good idea to have a look around your home and select an area where you think the images could be displayed . That way, we can ensure the sizing and shape fits perfectly. Take a photo and bring it in so we create a scaled mock up for you
Step 5: Collection Of Your Beautiful Images

Guess what? You will receive your photos within one week of your session and your final collection of photos, wall art and albums within four weeks from the photo shoot!

What’s it like stepping foot into Laurens studio? Warm, comforting and puts you entirely at ease. During your session, Lauren will encourage you to take time out and simply relax whilst gently and delicately capturing your newborn baby and family photos. By the end of your session you will be calling her your own personal baby whisperer! Lauren, being a mum herself, knows what it’s like to have a newborn which is why she looks after both bubba and parents so that everyone can enjoy their time at her studio.
For your safety, Lauren has invested in a hospital grade disinfection device that is COVID certified. This device is used in addition to the studio’s thorough cleaning process to protect against virus & bacteria. Lauren also uses personal protective equipment during your session so that you relax knowing that bubba will be in a safe and hygienic environment.
